Just like lentils, chickpeas, and beans, peas belong to the legume family; providing lots of protein and fiber. The protein in peas has a great balance of essential amino acids that our bodies can't produce, yet need to stay healthy, and even the pods hold a high fiber content that helps maintain good digestive health. Also, if you're lacking in the iron department, then your body isn't making enough healthy blood cells to travel throughout, leaving you with that not-so-fun fatigue...
